My child born with Down Syndrome loves all things Christmas and that includes stocking stuffers. I love Christmas too but stocking stuffers can stress me out.
What to buy for stocking stuffers?

I aim to buy creative, thoughtful, and useful stocking stuffers along with a few treats they don’t usually get…yes, I mean candy and chocolate!
Christmas is already stressful for us Mama Bears so I sat down and came up with some great ideas for stocking stuffers for our kids with Down Syndrome at different ages.
Remember Mama Bears, as with anything on Twenty One Dandelions, you know your child and your family best. Take what works for you and don’t worry about the rest!
Stocking Stuffers For Your Baby With Down Syndrome
Stocking stuffers that engage your baby’s senses to encourage development are fabulous. High contrast images and toys that make noise or play music are a good choice as are toys that encourage baby to cross midline which helps with milestones like crawling.
These foot and wrist rattles kept Max engaged long enough for me to make dinner when he was a baby!
While we didn’t have these exact cards when Max was a baby I wish we did! He would’ve loved the high contrast black and white images and all of the cards would have helped boost his language skills!
One of my favorite things to do with Max when he was a baby and toddler was read books together! It was a great activity to keep both of us engaged!
Glow in the dark pacifiers are a lifesaver at 3 am!
I loved the O-balls when Max was younger! They were perfect for working on gross motor skills. We would roll it back and forth to each other and we used an O-ball to help Max learn how to catch. This one doubles as a rattle too!
These chewy tubes were great when Max was teething and when he was in his biting phase.

Representation matters! Whenever possible I buy books or toys that have kids or people that look like Max. He LOVED to look at these books when he was a kid!
These foam letters and numbers are a perfect way to introduce the alphabet and early math concepts to your toddler with Down Syndrome. Bath time can be both fun and a time for learning!
Stocking stuffers that encourage creativity are perfect! We didn’t just use these finger crayons for drawing! Max loved to stack them and we’d count as we stacked. He also loved to put them on his fingers or my fingers and once all the fingers had a crayon we’d say the color of each one.
Ok, so sometimes practical stocking stuffers can be a bit boring to toddlers but this toothbrush is both fun AND practical!

I’ll say it again…representation matters! This Barbie with Down Syndrome wasn’t around when Max was younger but I absolutely positively would have bought one for him and his little sister!

Yes, please!
This is a toy your child is likely going to love and you will likely regret buying at some point in time! Max loves music, he loves to sing, and he loves to sing along to music with his microphone. While the rest of us in the home love Max, we don’t always love to hear him sing with his microphone! :)
Flashlights are another kid favorite and these flashlights are adorable! Keep it next to your child’s bed to help them feel extra brave at night.
This toy is great to help your child relax and to stay calm. It’s mesmerizing to kids and adults alike!
These stretch balls are just plain fun…and perfect for making little hands stronger!

In general, I find stocking stuffers for teens and adults harder. Try to finds gifts that celebrate them and the things they love!
Max loves listening to music so this portable bluetooth shower speaker is a perfect find! He can sing in the shower and it’ll be harder for us to hear him!
This bracelet is a great gift as it’s perfect for a guy or a gal and celebrates Down Syndrome!
Socks are a practical gift but these ones have a special message!
I love a good T-shirt!
Max gets hot fast and the summer heat is no joke! This neck fan is great for visiting amusement parks or when he’s cheering on his brother or sister at a hot soccer game!
